State Lawmaker Has His Eye on Police Accountability

It's pretty sad that Rep. Frederick seems to be the ONLY state rep. concerned about real cop accountability, though it shouldn't be surprising. And as much as [some politicians] may think that this is just a "Portland" issue, the FACT is that cops tend to be waaay worse in rural towns! And it's not really a race issue either, though people of color certainly fair much worse in rural towns than in grown-up cities. I have White friends in Hermiston/Stanfield who tell me that cops their are way fucked up; they pretty much do whatever the Hell they want. DAs & judges in rural districts are often extremely corrupt. And you can bet there's no kind of community activism in rural areas to even draw attention to what these pigs do.
Even if you're one of those dumbasses who loves & supports the police & thinks they can do no wrong, ask yourself this: would you rather be pulled over in Portland or Pendleton?
