Yes, they'll feel more at home on the East side, afterall.

1. Adding electricity and showers will likely make this into homelessness Mecca, right? Folks from all over the metro area making a pilgrimage to it for a hot shower and to charge any devices?

2. I'm not seeing the part of this plan that entices Michael Wright (who has been very vocal about using that Old Town plot to be nothing but a thorn in the side of city council) to do anything better with the current site. Has he or the mayor said anything about what this plan means for that site?

I vote they put the next one on Amanda Fritz's street!

@D&W 1. A shower and charging is a bad thing? Bud Clark Commons already has. 2.Think the City already agreed that PDC will buy the Chinatown Gate land for twice the value.

and 3. OMSI gets their housing in the neighborhood!

Despite all the "view of the bridge and river" optics, it's a shitty brownfield by a major railroad track. Let's hope some architecture and design students go to work on some elegant structures.

R2D2 and Dignity Village are far from perfect, but they are self-governing and self-managed shelters.
