Did you follow the money on this one?

We already have an election system that's the envy of most of the progressive-minded country, what with universal mail-in voting and runoff elections. Maybe this one isn't the system's fault? Maybe run better candidates next time?

Corporate real estate agent and part time mayor mister Wheeler has lied to Portlanders repeatedly. He lied about the MAX proposal voters rejected last year. He's lying about the Rose Quarter I-5 widening proposal. He's lying about Tri-Met's MAX subway route proposal through downtown. He lied about the possibility of the inevitable I-5 Marquam Bridge replacement being a tunnel under the Willamette River. These major infrastructure projects are more of a "land grab" for lucrative development than sensible transportation projects. The I-5 Interstate Bridge replacement proposal has just finished a year of planning only to reveal nothing has changed from the abominably terrible engineering that brought the 9-year planning process to a dull end in 2013. You can bet Wheeler had his hand in this mess too because TED DOES NOT LOVE PORTLAND.

@Art Lewellan, We know how much you love talking about Ted Wheeler, but there is no need to shoehorn him into a discussion of trimet policy or Multnomah County's bridges. It displays such an ignorance what the Portland Mayor is responsible and accountable for that I'd believe you might be Ted Wheeler himself.
