If you can take large-format photos, want to make (nearly) $100,000 a year, like to travel, and want Ansel Adams’ old job, the Department of the Interior might have the perfect position for you.

Here’s a screen shot of the job listing, which appears on the usajobs.gov website:

Travel, take pictures, get paid

The summary of duties includes producing “large-format photographic documentation to the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for the HABS/HAER/HALS permanent collection at the Library of Congress.”

Adams was commissioned for the same job in 1941, according to the National Archives website. The renowned photographer was tasked with creating a photo mural for the Dept. of the Interior Building but the project was halted during World War II and never resumed. Still, Adams produced 226 photos for the project. Many of the photos can be seen on the website linked in this paragraph.

Let the Mercury know if you get the job!
