Remember Captain Crap, aka Francesco Schettino the man that ran the Costa Concordia aground killing at least 15 people? It turns out earlier reports about cocaine being found in his hair might have resulted from a mix up at the forensic lab. Lawyers for Schettino have demanded a full explanation for the mix up, hoping to clarify that their client was not high when he killed all those people.
In science news, the threat of space junk is finally being taken seriously.
And fear not Apple fans. Foxconn, the Chinese manufacturer that makes iPhones, iPods, and iPads, has announced it will<a href=”http://www.nytimes.com/2012/02/19/technology/foxconn-to-raise-salaries-for-workers-by-up-to-25.html?_r=1&ref=technology
“> raise wages and cut back on overtime following reports about the miserable working conditions and multiple deaths at its factories. This follows Appleโs announcement that it is sending in an independent auditor to investigate Foxconnโs working conditions. Way to finally think different(ly), guys.
Scenes from Foxconn below.

Foxconn is cutting overtime?! Great, now we won’t see the iPhone 5 forever….
It would be cool if you guys decided to mention that Foxconn also makes items for Dell, Microsoft, Nintendo, Sony, and even our local Intel. Apple isn’t the only one using their services. Apple is the only one who even mentions the bad things that happens there.
They checked his chest hair, right?
@Jebus. What hardware does Foxconn make for MS? And it what amount?
It would also be cool if owners of Ford, GM, Honda, Mattel, Sony, IBM, Fischer Price, and Xerox products demanded fair wages and working conditions for the one million mostly young women, some as young as 12, working in the 3,000 maquiladoras bordering the U.S.

Bah! You’re wrong, Jebus. Buyers of cheap asian manufactured crap have come to terms with the sad fact. It’s the globally conscious Apple loyalists who we gawk at for a response… no one else. For me, it’s like finding out that a Prius has a larger carbon footprint than my Hyundai that when taking battery production into consideration. I love this stuff.
