The Tribune has this interesting tidbit on the recall 2 this morning, linking a long-term advisor to former Republican gubernatorial candidate Kevin Mannix to the effort:

Although organizers of the new Mayor Sam Adams recall campaign have yet to announce who will run it, at least one experienced campaign consultant has been offering advice. He is Jack Kane, founder and president of Creative Services, a local communications strategy firm.

Kane is also a longtime adviser to Kevin Mannix, the former legislator who has run unsuccessfully as a Republican for Oregon governor and the 5th Congressional District.

Although Kane did not return repeated calls for comment, several sources said he has been involved in numerous meetings and conference calls with other recall supporters.

Sleazy? Yes. More dangerous than Jasun Wurster? Also, yes.

  1. Mannix got 29% in Multnomah County? WOW! Who/where are these crazy 29%?

I’m all about seeing more Republicans in local politics. Unfortunately, they seem to trot out the same garbage platter locally as they do nationally.

BTW, I hardly think Sam is shaking in his boots by hearing news of a Mannix adviser contributing to the recall duex.
