It’s an interesting development when you view it in light of the Republican situation (especially in Oregon). For a while now, the only way for Republicans to be nominated in the primary is to be so conservative that they end up losing in the general. Now it appears that Democrats may want to nominate someone in the primary that is too liberal to win in the general. It almost makes it look like a vacuum in the center that someone could take advantage of. But I’m not sure anyone exists to do that.
@Jimmy I would say it is more the swing to the right by both parties that has opened the space on the Left for a viable candidate.
