Here’s a newsworthy snippet. Police Commissioner Dan Saltzman thinks Scott Westerman should resign as police union boss, following the recent road rage revelations. We asked him the question during this morning’s endorsement interview, and this was his response: “I do believe he’s rendered himself, to be, in my eyes, I would think, ineffective. But it’s up to the union members through a leadership recall. But in my estimation, yes, he’s been significantly weakened.”
Update, 6:15pm: Westerman is “weighing his options” after an emergency meeting of the PPA board.
I think his lawn signs just changed to “Captain Obvious for City Council.”

Doubtlessly the ‘grandfather mentors of PPB – the same guys who dumped & buried the Humphries whistleblower Sargent Brennan in the PPB’s evidence room have advised Westy.
