ICYMI: President Obama yesterday became the first American leader in 88 years to visit Cuba while serving in office. Obama appeared with Cuban President Raúl Castro this morning. Official talks between the US and Cuban governments will follow.

On the campaign trail: Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton’s campaigns have finally acknowledged that the west coast exists! Yesterday, Sanders drew crowds in Vancouver and Seattle’s Key Arena. According to the Seattle Times, someone brought Bernie puppets to the Seattle rally. Not a joke. (Also not as cute as Bernie Baby, sorry.) Meanwhile, Bill Clinton will be in Vancouver this afternoon to campaign for HRC. (BUT WILL THERE BE PUPPETS?) Washington State caucuses Saturday. We still have to wait until May.

Elsewhere, a man beat up a protester at a Trump rally, and it’s just as awful as you’d think.

“[W]e, for some reason, expect total purity from a woman candidate.” Jill Abramson, who was the first woman editor of the NY Times, weighs in on HRC at Politico.

Secretary of the Interior Sally Jewell will be in Harney County today, meeting with federal employees who were affected by the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge occupation, as well as tribal leaders.

The “Getting the Occupiers of Historic Oregon Malheur Evicted” (GOHOME) campaign, launched in opposition to the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge occupation, has raised more than $130,000 for nonprofits and the Burns-Paiute Tribe.

Important sports news for Ducks and Beavers. (*pats self on back for knowing something about sports that aren’t track and field*)

Today, in awful ideas: Jezebel takes a merited swipe at that newly opened, deeply ill-advised colonialism-inspired (WHY WHY WHY) restaurant on N Williams.

This again: According to South Korean military officials, North Korea has fired five short-range projectiles from its east coast. If this story sounds familiar, it’s because North Korea has launched 15 such missiles since February.

The LAPD is currently investigating a human skull discovered “in the shadow of the Hollywood sign.” This was my first thought.

Serena Williams continues to be a hero.

The bad news is it’s going to rain today. The good news is look how late the sun is setting. Thanks, spring equinox!
