GOOD MORNING, BLOGTOWN! I see your face every time I dream, on every page, every magazine. So wild and free, so far from me, you’re all I want, my fantasy. LET’S GO TO PRESS.

The Blazers drop two straight to the Phoenix Suns, and if you’d like to read about all the gory details check out Rob Simonsen’s Blazer recap!

Meanwhile the Timbers and the Vancouver Whitecaps finished their game on Sunday tied and scoreless.

Nearly two inches of rain fell on Portland on Halloween, making it the wettest day in four years.

An outbreak of E. coli (remember that?) hits Oregon and Washington Chipotle’s, and is the third outbreak for the restaurant chain this year.

For those itching to use a fake name on Facebook, some changes have been made, and you probably want to know about them.

Former US senator Fred Thompson, who was also an actor you’ve seen in dozens of movies, has died at the age of 73.

In a very important report from the AP:

In a yearlong investigation of sexual misconduct by US law enforcement, the Associated Press uncovered about 1,000 officers who lost their badges in a six-year period for rape, sodomy and other sexual assault; sex crimes that included possession of child abuse images; or sexual misconduct such as propositioning citizens or having consensual but prohibited on-duty intercourse.

Now here’s what’s going on with this WEATHER situation: More scattered showers, high of 57.

And finally, UGH! WHAT A WET HALLOWEEN. And this cat dressed as a pirate didn’t seem too happy about it either. (Or maybe it was because he was forced to dress as a pirate?)

Bang bang, choo-choo train, let me see you shake that thang. Wm. Steven Humphrey is the editor-in-chief of the Portland Mercury and has held the job since 2000. (So don’t get any funny ideas.)
