At some point, people are going to accept that there were never 51 and most certainly were never 60 votes for the public option. I can say this quite confidently, because had there been that level of support for it, it would have passed! Just like the actual Senate HCR bill passed with 60 votes! Instead, it was repeatedly stripped from the bill and quietly killed. And not by Republicans. Now what people need to do is figure out why, if they are so sure the public option will pass, only 20 some Senators have signed on to it, and even some of them privately want it to go away. Here is a hint—a lot of Senators ARE LYING TO YOU.

These people are never going to give us what we need… We gave them the White House and a majority in both houses of Congress (a filibuster proof majority in the Senate, no less)… a Progressive mandate, right?
