It kind of hurts to watch, but the undressing of the GOP for manipulating the events of 9/11 for political gain while simultaneously blocking the 9/11 first responders bill by Jon Stewart last night is pretty good. And by “good” I mean depressing as fuck. Best line: “You know, all of our troops in Afghanistan and Iraq are technically 9/11 responders.”

This bill was introduced to congress in February 2009, but didn’t pass the pass until the end of this September. Sounds like Democrats are the ones who held up the bill and hate 9/11 first responders. Isn’t that the same mangled logic that Jon Leibowitz uses?
