Polls are mostly meaningless at this point in the presidential campaign game. If you want to know how a candidate is doing this far out from the primaries, the best metric is fundraising—it predicts things like ad buys, organizational strength, and enthusiasm. With that in mind, Fox News delivers a bit of a surprise today:
Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., raised a combined total of $2.2 million in the first quarter of 2011, outgaining presumed presidential contender Mitt Romney who raised $1.9 million over the same period.
Which will it be, Republicans—the lunatic or the Mormon?

Stop promoting these ridiculously long prez campaigns.
What’s the difference?
Polling isn’t as bad this far out as you might think. Just ask Nate Silver.

However, this is worth noting, I agree.
