We were getting in the SW Ankeny “carfree alley” to celebrate intern Suzette Smith’s last day at the paper (goodbye wonderful Suzette!) when she gestured to the bar Central and said, “It’s against the rules to hit on people in that bar.”
“What do you mean it’s against the rules?” I said.
“They have rules. And it’s against them,” Suzette replied. She’s right! “No flirting” is rule #2 at Central:

Hitting on people of the same sex: Still okay.

Sarah. You missed the boat on this one by about 16 months.

Someone should tell the owner of these rules who routinely goes home with patrons of his establishment.
The owner is exempt from the rules.
@JOE JOE: BURN!
I’m sick of bullshit rules against ethereal fighting.
The last sentence of Rule III is in conflict with Rule II.
If you’re the president then it’s not illegal. Therefore if you’re the owner it’s not against the rules. Owner probably grew up in the Nixon era.
