I was at the airport weekend before last, and almost Insta’d my shoes on the carpet with a caption along the lines of, “Thought they were getting rid of this crap?” because people have already been mourning it forrreevveerrrrrrr, and it’s still. freaking. there.
If the whimsical, oft-trod carpet has given you enough joy that you want to purchase a scrap of it, I’d like for you to do just that: City Liquidators, Carpet Mill Outlet, and Two Dogs in a Boat are all getting a piece, as well as Nagl Floor Covering in Aurora. In most cases the bits will be cut down and finished as smaller carpets and doormats and such, or as even tinier frame-able squares, though Two Dogs’ “The PDX Project” also looks like it’s planning on making some chairs and “cat beds” that look more like cat party-tents to me, and your cats mos def need a party tent, so keep your eyes peeled for the reinvented airport bits to arrive later this spring.
