While City Commissioner Amanda Fritz may have appeared at Adams’ side this afternoon at the press conference, Adams’ other council colleagues are presenting a somewhat less happy face.

“I believe public service is honorable, and the overwhelming majority of people in public service do their best to do the right thing every day,” says City Commissioner Nick Fish. “I am disappointed and outraged by the mayor’s acknowledgment that he lied to the public and that he coached this young man to lie for him. I have joined with City Commissioner Randy Leonard in calling for an independent inquiry, and what I want the public to know is that this council is focused on doing the public’s business, and that we will not allow this to be a distraction from doing what we were elected to do.”
