According to Oregonlive, this time-lapse video of Portland received a “two-minute ovation” at TEDx recently. Which is fine, because it’s pretty and impressive, but the way it’s scored makes me feel like Portland is moments from being eradicated in a Cylon attack—like everything in these pictures is gone. (Which I guess it is, in a sense; maybe that’s what they were going for?) I’ve been listening to Casiotone for the Painfully Alone today, like I do, so I synched up the video with “Scattered Pearls” as a soundtrack and I liked it much better. Then it was like a car commercial, which is in most ways preferable to a planetary holocaust.
