Reddit shares this story from News 13 in central Florida, in which a new law dictates that you could spend up to 60 days in jail if you "pose your pet as a service animal." From the story:

If the dog is found to be wearing false identifiers, and isn’t properly trained then the owner will go to jail.

Now if you're like me, on occasion you see dogs (and the occasional ferret) in various Portland stores and restaurants. (Though I'm unsure how many of those owners would claim they're carrying service animals, if asked.) Anyway what's the big deal with carrying your dog around the grocery store? Well, there's this:

Oregon law prohibits all animals, except for service animals, in grocery stores, restaurants, and other food establishments. Service animals are trained working animals, NOT pets.

As I've stated adamantly in the past, I adore dogs—though many people disagree with my stance on keeping them out of food establishments. HOWEVER! I COULD BE SWAYED TO THINK OTHERWISE. Especially after I read this fascinating sentence from the above article:

In Florida, a service animal can be a dog or a miniature horse, according to the new law.

SQUEEEEE! Here's the service animal I'd pick.

Anyway, let's do a poll:
