There’s a nice postscript to this week’s heart string-tugging I, Anonymous about the elderly dog whose wheelchair was stolen: A Mercury reader has stepped forward with an anonymous donation to replace the stolen wheelchair so his crippled dog can still get a tiny bit of exercise.

I am NOT SUGGESTING that our I, Anonymous forum should be used to try and get free stuff, but it is a good way to air your grievances and confess your sins. Apparently, every once in a blue moon, someone listens.

I wish the number of of generous people in the world made up for all the insensitive greedy bastards and thieves. This is definitely a step in the right direction.
Wow, do I feel like a cynical asshole. When I read this I anonymous I immediately thought, “what the fuck did you expect? when you leave valuable things on your porch… sometimes they get stolen!” I mean, really, thieves don’t stop to see how pathetic your story is before stealing your stuff, they just steal it. If you don’t want your stuff stolen, take some precautions; like I dunno… not leaving it on the fucking porch!
