Every once in a great while my interests will collide with those of film editor and comic book enthusiast Erik Henriksen, such as when dreamboat actor Ryan Reynolds (and I quote from an IM conversation with Erik: “i heart him too”โbusted!) dons a costume for his role as the Green Lantern:

WHAT THE FUCK DO THEY MEAN “THE NEW BUFFY”?!?!?!!?โErik
Looks like green muscles! The original comic book version:

I think the suit’s cool enough for what it is (which isn’t exactly “fashion,” per se), although the mask is super dumb. Erik doesn’t like it because it’s “so goofy,” and I don’t like it because it covers up his face. The rest of the costume, though, is neat because it’s CGI. Hit the jump to see what it looked like when he was filming the actual scenes, as well as a photo of what must be Ryan’s adorable tiny dog because the only thing that makes an adorable guy more adorable is an adorable tiny dog.

I think you put a Nerd Trap in the headline. I bet Erik’s head is exploding every time he looks at that.
NERD TRAP NERD TRAP
New Buffy = motion comic of season 8. Keep up with your WHEDONesque. ๐
I dig it. Mask isn’t my favorite thing ever, but over all I think it’s great. Much better than the Odin/Thor/Loki pic released the other day. Those costumes looked kinda cheesedick.
