AlterNet surveyed a bunch of “studies,” mashed their findings together, and concludes:

People in other countries have up to 70 times more sex than we do. Indeed, Americans are only about 48 percent sexually satisfied.

Among the countries allegedly more sexually satisfied than ours: Russia, China, Switzerland, Nigeria, Spain, Italy, Brazil, India, Mexico… the list goes on.

As for AlterNet’s methodology—the jury’s out on whether it’s any more scientific than a Blogtown poll. So!

  1. Okay, you just repeated AlterNet’s (willful?) mistake, but the study they linked says that people in some countries have sex up to 70 more times per year than we do, NOT that they have 70 times as much sex as we do. 70x would be a lot of sex. What’s 365 times 70?
