On October 31, Covi. dropped a new music video for “Better Days,” the first single off his upcoming project. The stunning visual’s Halloween release date is fitting since the born-and-raised Portland rapper is dressed up in a full-blown cowboy ensemble (sans cowboy boots, thank god) for the Western-themed music video. Covi. picks at an acoustic guitar, carries a revolver, and mingles with horses as he walks around a rural landscape and abandoned church. Shout out to director Riley Brown for executing the video’s concept. It’s well shot and well edited, and Covi. actually kills the Black cowboy look. My favorite part? That gorgeous star of a horse that nods and nibbles at the rapper’s button-up.
The song itself also knocks. Covi. keeps a low tone as he sing-raps through the chorus and spits smooth verses over vibey production by Austin Chapline.
