The Blazers have just filled the empty void in their bench by signing former Indiana Pacers guard Travis Diener to their final roster spot. Since Portland always needs a scrappy white point-guard with little skills outside of Europe or the D-League (Richie Frahm, Dan Dickeau), Diener will feel right at home nervously clutching Brandon Roy’s towel in the closing seconds of a game. Plus, he’s from Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, so he and fellow Midwestern Joel Pryzbilla can now eat cheese curds and drink Miller together.
