Oh hello, Vanilla Gorilla.
In a move that is equal parts ironic and tragic, the Portland Trail Blazers are on the verge of cutting Greg Oden and re-signing Joel Pryzbilla. Years of shame drinking might have clouded your memory, but if you recall Pryzbilla was the team’s center as they entered the 2007 draft; the very same draft where Portland selected Oden with the first pick.
In the years that followed, Pryzbilla did his time with the Blazers, was shipped off to Charlotte, and then retired. But much like a less annoying Brett Favre, the lumbering big man decided to give it another go and his modest skills as a rebound grabber, team leader, and unlikely subject of this highlight reel should help the floundering Blazers.
It’ll also signal the team’s first official shift away from Oden, whose career is most likely finished once and for all. Well, there’s always dentistry.

YES YES YES YES YES YES YES!!!!
ALSO, THIS MEANS MY VANILLA GORILLA TSHIRT IS NO LONGER IRONIC AND IS MORE AWESOME NOW!!!
OH FUCK, I SO SO SO SO MUCH WANT A PRYZBILLA THROWBACK RIP CITY JERSEY. A LOT.
Holy awesomeness! It’s about time.
omg omg omg omg Wait, can we trade Poundcake and get Andre back too?
This makes sense.
I’m into this, but I don’t get why we’re not giving Chris Johnson and Craig Smith more playing time. They both seem like bigs who could be legit NBA players if given the proper role. Whatever, less playing time for Kurt Thomas seems like a step in the right direction.
