Everybody already knew, but now Google has officially, really, seriously announced the Nexus One, a new Android handset made by HTC running a new version of Android, deliciously named Eclair.

It’s tempting. But I love the hardware keyboard of my G1. I wish there was a Nexus with keyboard option!
ROM, it’s called the Droid. And if you’re on T-Mobile, you don’t get the subsidized price anyway.
Also, this phone only works on ONE plan and the 3G is only compatible with T-Mobile in North America. Kind of ridiculous for what is being sold as an unlocked phone.
I want to like it, I would really like having Google Voice integration and T-Mobile is cheaper if not better than AT&T, but as usual the carriers have fucked this.
Andy – I thought the subsidized price ($180) was for T-Mobile users. And the $549 price was for the unlocked version for non-T-Mobile users. Maybe I just don’t get what you’re saying.
