If you care about the following issues, you should come out to the mayoral debate at Portland State University tonight: the Columbia River Crossing, funding for bike routes, new sidewalks, the goddamn TriMet cut backs that make me wait for an extra 10 minutes in the cold for the goddamn bus.
Nine Portland transportation and public health groups are sponsoring tonight’s transpo-focused debate between the top three mayoral candidates, Jefferson Smith, Eileen Brady, and Charlie Hales. I’ll be moderating the debate along with PSU Dean Larry Wallack and I can assure you that there will be a half an hour at the end of the night for “mingling” so anyone who shows up will have ample time to grill the candidates face-to-face.
The debate starts at 7pm in PSU’s Lincoln Hall. See you there!

Per the flier – there will be no room for those who choose private automobiles, also know as ‘most people’
Just as there is no room for single-occupancy 6,000lb private vehicles in a dense urban environment. If you want to drive everywhere, stay in Beaverton.
There needs to be a hell of a lot more bikes on that flyer.
Stay out of Portland, cagers.
Chris, you make me wish I had a SUV to drive to this damn meeting.
Frankie, I doubt that you’re tall enough to see over the steering wheel.
