1. I rewatched most of Series Six over the weekend and I’m just going to come out and say that even though I’ve seen it all twice now, and some episodes three times, I’m still pretty sure I don’t understand most of the stuff involving the Silence and the Impossible Astronaut and all that. By which I mean I’m pretty sure it doesn’t actually make sense. I’m also pretty sure some particularly officious nerds will set me straight in the comments section below.

2. The TARDIS Room on Killingsworth is having a Season Seven premiere screening this Saturday at the oh-shit-everybody-get-crazy hour of 6 pm. The official description:

Join us September 1st 6pm for the season premiere of the new Doctor Who season followed by a party, drink specials, prizes for the best costume, best tattoo, and more. Stay tuned for more details.

3. The first episode of the weeklong webseries “The Pond Life,” leading up to the new season, is out. Here!

  1. a) season 6 was ridiculous and completely contradicts how they have established that time travel works.

    b) amy is awful, but rory is awesome. donna was also good.

  2. Anyone complaining that Doctor Who doesn’t make sense should be reminded that the series began with an Ebenezer Scrooge lookalike fighting cavemen and then turning into Moe Howard.

  3. @Fruit Cup: Erik will never understand our Donna love! Which is funny because she did red-headed and yelling-at-everyone-as-a-charming-character-trait first and far better.

  4. The show went to hell after Steven Moffat replaced Russell T. Davies as head writer beginning in Series 5. Unfortunately, Moffat is listed by IMDB.com as the Series 7 writer, so we’re in for more incomprehensibility.
