The CW is trying out some new shows this fall—and I can’t decide which is the WORST. Because to me, they are all uniformly terrible. From Deadline TV:

The CW went heavily after pre-sold titles in its pilot choices today, greenlighting Arrow, based on the DC Comics book Green Arrow; an adaptation of Candace Bushnell’s novel The Carrie Diaries, a prequel to Sex And The City; and a reboot of the 1980s series Beauty And The Beast.

GAHHHHH!!! Before we put this to a vote, let’s find out a bit more info about each:

Arrow is described as a modern retelling of the story of DC Comics character Green Arrow. Justin Hartley, who played the character on the CW’s Smallville for several seasons, is not attached to the new project.

Carrie Diaries, from Fake Empire and Warner Bros. TV, chronicles Carrie Bradshaw’s coming of age in the 1980s when she asks her first questions about love, sex, friendship and family while exploring the worlds of high school and Manhattan.

Loosely based on the 1980s CBS series starring Linda Hamilton, Beauty and the Beast is a modern day romantic love story with a procedural twist.

Bang bang, choo-choo train, let me see you shake that thang. Wm. Steven Humphrey is the editor-in-chief of the Portland Mercury and has held the job since 2000. (So don’t get any funny ideas.)

  1. They missed the train on doing a Green Arrow show. Justin Hartley is the only reason it would have worked in the first place (Note: I’m not saying it would have worked). Seems kind of dumb to do now.

  2. Hey, I forgot about that Beauty & the Beast show. Ron Perlman played the titular Beast! I remember it being interesting, but I only saw it on sick days as a kid so my recall shouldn’t be trusted.

Still, it’s probably better than Grimm.

  3. Jeez, Steve, if you wanted promo swag from my new job, you just had to ask. (I know where the sales people hide their massive box of Hart of Dixie t-shirts, all men’s size large. How do you feel about simple country doctors?)
