Fresh off being named on of the “Best of the Fest” at last week’s Montreal Just For Laughs Festival (one of the biggest in the business), our very own Ron Funches makes his TV debut on Conan! I happen to be in LA and watched Ron do a warm up set last night and my god, he killed. He’s ready.
Tune in to TBS tonight at 11 and cheer him on/laugh along. This is a big deal for a Portland comic and perhaps Portland comedy in general—the kind of recognition that would’ve seemed preposterous only a few short years ago.

I think your statement about this kind of recognition for Portland Comics would have been preposturous a few short years ago is lacking in knowledge.. Portland has always been regarded as having very strong and nationally recognized comedians. Ron is one of many and it is well deserved. I will take it your young and wrapped up in the excitement and the pride that goes with this kind of night. It’s just the beginning for Ron.
I’ve known Ron since middle school and went to a few of his early gigs. Go Ron!!!!
