The new Star Trek trailer features a whole lot of Sherlock being grumpy, Kirk being badass, RoboCop, Alice Eve being mostly naked, Sherlock being grumpy some more, and so much srs bsns, heavy-duty gravitas that one suspects J.J. Abrams might’ve forgotten that what made his first Star Trek so much fun was that it was, you know, fun. Still. I am stupidly excited for this.

Also, c’mon, Sulu. It’s been like five years but you’re still terrible at driving the Enterprise? Steer around the water, man. Seriously. Get it together.

  1. Yet another lame revenge based plot, and having the Enterprise crash land on terra firma is a bad oman, seeing as how every time Star Trek’s pulled that plot device out it’s sucked!

A Star Wars movie that would look like this just might begin the healing process for that franchise, but for Star Trek? William Shatner must be rolling in his grave.

  2. @ Spindles:

Shatner is alive and well. 81 years old. Released his 3rd music album less than two years ago.

But yeah, i agree: if he was in a grave, this film looks like it could very well push him to rolling in it.

  3. This looks like a piece of shit movie.

First they came for Star Wars,
    and I didn’t speak out because I wasn’t a Jedi.
Then they came for Indiana Jones,
    and I didn’t speak out because I wasn’t a Lucas fan anyway.
Then they came for the The Karate Kid,
and I didn’t speak out because nobody watched it anyway.
Then they came for the Transformers,
and I didn’t speak out because I wasn’t into Transformers.
Then they came for the Conan the Barbarian,
and I didn’t speak out because there was no real hype.
Then they came for Star Trek,
and there was no one left to speak for me.
