I know, I know, you’re sick and tired of friends ruining your dinner party by exclaiming: Oh my god, you haven’t seen The Wire? It’s only the best television show in the history of ever.

I was once like you, dear readers, blind to the ways of Marlo Stanfield, Tommy Carcetti, and Jimmy McNulty, but I finally gave in and now I can see the light. My friends were right. It really is the best show ever. That said, Amazon is offering up all five seasons of The Wire DVD, in a giant industrial-looking box, for $82 (the list price was $250). Or you can just wait for me to buy it, then take it from me, Omar Little style: “The game’s out there, and it’s play or get played. That simple.”

  1. The band was selling them on their last tour, but I missed the Portland show. So I called in some favors and finally got one. I think they might eventually sell them on the Polyvinyl Records site. I wish there was a whole line of them, since I’d love a Bunk (or Bubbles!) one as well.
