While KK was (or still is) a good song writer, I saw hime and Willie Nelson and Waylon Jennings in concert at the MC many years ago, and (at least that night) he couldn't carry a tune in a bucket. He was horrible.
Years ago, I went to a surplus school property auction where I spotted a single lot of vintage roll-down maps and other classroom displays with fabulous graphics. When the auctioneer got to that lot, he opened the bid at $5.00. In the five-second pause before I could raise my paddle with a bid, he shouted "SOLD!," pointed to some other dude and moved on to a pallet full of tiny chairs. The lucky bidder wasn't willing to part with any of his prize on the side. I guess I'm an amateur too.
As to Kris; I've heard some of the stuff off his new album, and yeah his voice is gone. But the lyrics remain good, and as I often say, he gets a lifetime pass simply for writing "To Beat the Devil."
Well I suppose the "take away" is never let strangers chat you up at a "State Yard Sale." Otherwise your conversation may make it onto the internet and get forwarded to you by 3 friends.
Hey if anybody wants a pull down map I got several available...cheap!
Well if you wanted to find other yard sales without stolen property seized by the state in the portland area you can always use: http://www.garagesalestracker.com/yard-sal… which gets loaded up with yard sales come the weekend and has a list of all the local consignment shops and flea markets!
Fabian is hands down the best bidder in the state. I have seen him work a sale like he was stealing candy from a baby. The problem was I was the baby. But he was so nice about it I even helped load the truck.
