The Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office arrested Portland Police Officer Scott Elliott, 50, today for a duo of sex crimes: Online Sexual Corruption of a Child and Luring a Minor (both class C felonies). A 22-year-old veteran of the police bureau, Elliott has no obvious history of creepiness. However, he was assigned at the East Precinct to help register sex offenders in the past.

According to the police press release, he is now on administrative leave without “police powers.” He currently is at the Multnomah County Detention Center.

  1. If we were to judge people on personal appearance and general creepiness, a lot of people would be locked up. I do find his assignment to be egregious however. Ugh. Hopefully the system actually works this time, however that is little consolation to the lives he may have ruined (allegedly).
