Wow. Today was the first morning I actually stopped what I was doing, sat down and listened with full attention to the discussion on Oregon Public Broadcasting’s Think Out Loud. This morning’s show featured two sex workers — a female prostitute and a male stripper — just talking frankly about their jobs. It was really interesting to hear Portland sex workers talking without any agenda about their interactions with police, their views of clients and the life itself. And THEN halfway through the show, the escort’s MOM called in things really got interesting. If you’ve been following any of our coverage of prostitution along 82nd Ave and the city’s semi-funded effort to get prostitutes in counseling, the show is a good listen.
