The Portland Mercury is looking to fill a position in our stellar advertising sales team. In its 10th year, the Mercury has maintained double-digit growth every year and is forecasting a strong 2011. Job Description: Maintain and expand existing base of clients. Prospect new leads, contact potential clients through cold calls and drop-ins, develop relationships with business owners/managers, and educate businesses on all aspects of print and web advertising in the Mercury including choices, expectations, frequency, reaching a targeted demo, development of an effective ad campaign, and gauging the response and continued satisfaction of the client.

Experience: 1+ year in print/web advertising sales or related sales field. Fearless drive to succeed combined with excellent communication skills.

Compensation: Base salary and benefits to start, plus commission and bonuses. A vehicle is required for this position.
