IT’S COMMON for touring comics to joke about the city they’re visiting, and at a festival like Bridgetown, that means audiences can expect a whole lot of riffing on Portland. In six years of attending the festival, we’ve heard it all—and this year, with the help of Funny Over Everything producer Sean Jordan and former Mercury columnist Ian Karmel (Portland as Fuck), we’ve put together a Bridgetown Bingo card of popular Portland jokes—so you can play along!
We’re giving away a dozen Voodoo Doughnuts and a copy of a new split comedy 7-inch by Karmel and Nathan Brannon, just released by Voodoo Doughnut Recordings. (Brannon and Karmel will celebrate the record release at the Doug Fir on Friday, May 9, 11 pm, $20.)
