The creeping death of Grails’ Doomsdayer’s Holiday.
Ezra Ace Caraeff
Ezra Ace Caraeff is the former Music Editor for the Mercury, and spent nearly a third of his life working at the paper. More importantly, he is the owner of Olive, the Mercury’s unofficial office dog. His writing has appeared in The Fader, The Stranger, The Onion's A.V. Club, ESPN's TrueHoop network, and countless fanzines that are thankfully long out of print. He makes a mean tofu scramble and yes, Ace is really his middle name.

Blazers vs Warriors – Hot Live Blog Action
Live from the Rose Garden–where for some reason every preseason game feels like the playoffs–as the Portland Trail Blazers take on the Golden State Warriors. Decemberists and Pals to Rock Against Republicans
Already snug in the back pocket of Obama (say hello to Bruce Springsteen for me), Colin Meloy and Chris Funk from the Decemberists are now using their star power, and political smarts, to campaign for Jeff Merkley. Running for Senate against Gordon Smith (seen here at a khaki convention with George W. Bush), Merkley’s campaign […]
Why TV Was Better When We Were Kids
I liked television more when I was younger. Most likely because I had 8-14 hours of free time every day to watch it, but still, even with fancy gadgets like TiVo and hi-def screens, it’s just not the same. Plus, I’m convinced there is nothing currently on television more appealing than this glorious show (from […]
