Just a heads up, Blogtownies, that today is the last day to donate to help a poor North Portland girl buy a new bike, after hers was stolen by a cruel thief.

Read the whole story and her sad little letter (complete with crayon drawings) here. Thanks to your generosity, we’ve raised $145. Hurrah! But a replacement bike costs $350, so we could use your help.

In the war of children vs. bike thief, make sure you throw your weight onto the right side. Donate now to buy her a new bike!

  1. Sorry Smirk, I gave to Planned Parenthood when you asked but not this time. I will take refuge in the possibility that maybe I prevented another child from being born, only to suffer the eventual disappointment of having her bike stolen.

  2. Planned Parenthood has literally billions of dollars. Here’s a great chance to donate to someone who probably isn’t supported by the Gates Foundation.

Also, as an inducement, donate $20 or more, and you have the right to demand one immediate haiku from me, in the comments on any thread, or IRL at a meetup. Subject is your choice. System is honor.

I can’t think of a better inducement (because I haven’t tried to). Now pony up, b-town.
