Do you reside in, or visit Portland’s Northside? Are you in need of eats, drinks, shops, or services? If so, you’ll both love and need the Mercury‘s Northside Neighborhood Guide. You’ll find the guide inside this week’s paper (or at least those distributed in North and Northeast Portland, plus a couple extra bonus areas as well).
Not only does this friendly neighborhood guide help connect your face to food, your mouth to drinks, your hands to shops, and your whatever to services, it also directs you to some of those Northside wonders which come in extra handy if you’re in that neck of the woods and looking for something fun to do.
Extra special thanks to all the folks who pitched in to make this guide the best one ever! Photos by Liz Devine, Modeling by Jeremy Okai Davis & Nick Nolte, and everything else by your friendly neighborhood Mercury staff.
GET IT. READ IT. DO IT.

Hey, I just got this. I live in St. Johns, and am wondering about a couple places mentioned in the intro by Dorea Pursnell that I’m pretty sure don’t exist. One being the “famous” Volto-Calliope Coin-song booths. What and where? The other being the Iannis-Kwik Automat in Cathedral Park…again, what and where? I’ve lived here for 7 years and have never heard of either? And Google doesn’t know what I’m talking about.
Anyone? Anyone?
