Motoya Nakamura / Multnomah County

Today's the day, folks: It's Multnomah County's May 18 special election! That means you have until 8 pm to dunk your ballot into an official drop box to make your vote count.

For those who haven't voted yet, here's a quick refresher on what's on the table:

Depending on where you live, you'll likely be voting to appoint members on the Portland Public Schools board, or another local public school board—like David Douglas, Parkrose, Beaverton, Riverdale, Corbett, or Gresham-Barlow. Same goes for candidates for the Portland Community College (PCC) board or the Mt. Hood Community College (MHCC) board. All Multnomah County residents will also have the opportunity to vote for candidates for the Multnomah Education Service District board—a kind of mega-school-board that coordinates between the different school districts in the county. To learn more about any of these candidates, crack open your handy voter's pamphlet, or take a look at a digital one here.

Portland residents will also be voting to renew a property tax for five more years that helps fund the Oregon Historical Society.

That's it! Remember, you have until 8 pm to relinquish your ballot (here's a map of different drop off locations). Check in with us tomorrow morning for election results.
