It’s a rare thing when poets have the opportunity to win any kind of financial support, so all aspiring/starving poets make note that the Burnside Review’s seventh annual chapbook poetry contest is on! Submissions of 18-24 published/unpublished pages are due June 30 (nitty gritty details here), with a winner to be announced around September 1. This year’s judge is Mary Syzbist, an award winning poet who is also an assistant professor of English at Lewis & Clark. The winner of the contest will not only get the props of respected colleagues like Syzbist—they’ll have 25 copies printed by the Burnside Review Press and get a cash prize of $200. So get scribin’.
