The Police Bureau has received some calls from members of the community and the media in connection with election night. Some people have expressed concern that there may be protests or large celebrations after tomorrow’s election. The Police Bureau has not had contact with any organized group who is currently planning a protest, but anticipate there will be some celebrations after a long campaign and the hope that we will no longer have to endure political advertising. The Police Bureau will have a couple squads of both bike and Rapid Response Team officers available for deployment anywhere in the City of Portland in the event we become aware of any problem requiring additional resources.

This is purely fabricated hysteria. Probably from the security division of Evergreen which is trying to be the Blackwater of election security. Hey the police have all the intelligence – tell us who is making the calls? If it is the media trying to generate their own news, shame! don’t believe the hype.
