Jeezus, Senator Rubio, put a SPOILER ALERT up if you’re going to give away key plot details:

If I do a good job as a vice president —I’m sorry as Senator—I’ll have the chance to do all sorts of things,” the rising Republican star told the National Journal during a Newseum forum.

Rubio is a likely vice presidential choice, especially considering President Obama’s very good showings in Florida polls. (Polls currently show a Rubio VP pick not helping Romney’s numbers at all in Florida, but I’m sure the Romney team can dismiss that poll as some kind of a fluke.) The biggest strike against Rubio right now as far as Romney’s overcautious team is concerned is probably his weird Mormon past.

  1. His family was Mormon until he was an adolescent, when they went Catholic. No one’s going to give a shit. He’s a really smart pick for VP.
