Fearless Brewing Company Third Anniversary, Fearless Brewing Co., 326 S Broadway, Estacada, 630-2337, Sat June 3

Not only is the Fearless Brewing Company responsible for popular concoctions like the Fearless Maibock and Fearless Scottish Ale, but they also claim to have one of the best burgers around. On Saturday, the microbrewery is celebrating its three-year anniversary with live music, dancing, and a raffle. If you’ve never tried their beer (or hell, even if you have), Saturday is the perfect opportunity to unleash your inner beer snob, make the trek out to Estacada, and acquaint yourself with a frosty pint. Farmer John Peterson Reading, Powell’s Books for Home and Garden, 3747 SE Hawthorne, Wed June 7, 7 pm

The documentary The Real Dirt on Farmer John followed John Peterson’s transformation from free-lovin’ hippie to earnest advocate of organic, sustainable farming. Peterson will be at Powell’s to promote the film’s companion book, Farmer John’s Cookbook: The Real Dirt on Vegetables, which is chock-full of recipes for cooking with fresh vegetables. Farmer John will undoubtedly have a lot to say about community-friendly farming, and probably some good stories about dropping acid in the ’70s, too. AH
