MAKE ‘EM LAUGHComedy is OK returns for another bout at the brand-new Helium Comedy Club with a night of hand-picked stand-up from Portland’s comedic darlings Andrew Michaan (who moonlights as a Mercury intern) and Mikey Kampmann. ND

SHE BOP—For a girl who just wants to have fun, Cyndi Lauper has certainly done well for herself. After 25 years and tons of record sales, Lauper has shown herself to be a multifaceted singer/songwriter who is also an actress, a sly feminist, a gay rights activist, and now with her latest album, Memphis Blues, a soulful Southern belle. Alison Hallett served nobly as the Mercury's arts editor from 2008-2014. Her proud legacy lives on.

One reply on “It’s Happening Tonight!”

  1. Has Helium stopped that ridiculous two-item minimum yet? I mean, it’s not like I won’t buy three or four beers but I really don’t need signs everywhere telling me that. Also the food there absolutely blows; that doesn’t help things.

Might be worth it for Comedy is OK — previous shows at the Clinton were pretty good when they had an audience.
