Now serving Mudder's milk.

As I’m more often than not at the Moon and Sixpence (2014 NE 42nd) providing drunken support to my boyfriend who works there, I know it’s a favorite haunt of the PDX Browncoats, local lovers of Joss Whedon’s Firefly and Serenity. (Hi guys! If you see me, please don’t tell me Twilight’s identity in Buffy Season Eight. I’m still pureโ€”I’ve been avoiding that leak like the plague.) Well, when the Browncoats aren’t playing space-western RPGs, or organizing awesome screenings, they’re thinking of ways to do other shiny things, like Saturday’s Mercy Corps fundraiser for Haiti.

Take it away press release:

You can help support those in need by joining the PDX Browncoats on Saturday, February 6, at the Moon and Sixpence to raise money for Mercy Corps, with proceeds going to their continued relief effort in Haiti. The Moon and Sixpence has generously offered to donate a portion of their February 6th proceeds to Mercy Corps. If you would like to contribute more, the PDX Browncoats have a website available to accept online contributions of any amount. Contributions can be made here.

Important Related News: There’s also a Portland-based web series in the works, inspired by Whedon’s Firefly universe. Filming has started and a website is set to launch soon. But for those hungry for more info about the show check out their blog. It’s a promising-looking venture with a new cast of characters aboard the the Firefly Courage.

  1. This is possibly a stupid question – isn’t season 8 of Buffy a comic book? This actor is in season 7. I just finished it, and haven’t started the comic yet. And I don’t know what Twilight is…

  2. Hi ROM. Yep, season eight is a comic book. It’s awesome. You should read it! Twilight is the new Big Bad, and they’re about ready to reveal his identity.
