Welcome to 2024! Let’s all agree to ditch the diet culture-fueled resolutions and instead start off the new year with an abundance of good food, from the vegan comfort food joint GNARLYS to the new FoPo ice cream parlor St. Francis. Read on for all of that and more delicious updates. For more ideas, check out our food and drink guide.

NEW OPENINGS AND RETURNS

GNARLYS
This vegan spot, which specializes in stoner-friendly eats like loaded fries, plant-based mozzarella sticks, and towering burgers, just moved into its new home inside Swan Dive and will host a grand reopening today from 4-8 pm, complete with DJ tunes, vendors, and tattoos from artist Jason Hudson. Don’t miss their January #VeganDiningMonth special, the “Hunky Tony” (a spicy PB&J burger with spicy provolone, crispy “bakon,” Portland Spicy Peanut Butter, jalapeños, and blueberry compote on toasted sourdough).
