It’s a rare pleasure to address a local-clothing related event scheduled for December that doesn’t directly relate to holiday shopping (no hate, just appreciate the change of pace). And it’s even more good tidings that they involve Barbara Seipp, the former owner of the Isaac Hers boutique and clothing line of the same name.
Seipp has been on hiatus from designing, at least publicly, since closing down the shop (which last resided in the Black Box building on W Burnside). It’s good news that she’s back; her designs have always been cleanly designed, well-built garments with longevity and approachable price points. And in an exciting twist, she’s paired up with up and comer Kate Troedsson, whose work (which is bit tough-girl in a really good way) is similarly built to last. The reveal of their collaboration, called Karl vonBuck, is scheduled for December 4 at Adorn‘s new SE Division location (doors at 7, show at 8—free and all ages). In the meanwhile we have this image to go on, of a simple, chic dress in sturdy material that one might wear for years to come. Can’t wait to see the rest.
