—The Raf Simons documentary Dior and I is opening in Portland May 1! Plan on it (and look for my forthcoming review in the film pages).

The Portland chapter of the American Institute of Architects is hosting STITCH II, a very interesting-sounding design competition: “We are proposing reuse of space under I-405, typically reserved for parking and unused urban fabric, through this design competition as a vehicle to generate ideas the City of Portland can aspire to.” It’s being juried by representatives from firms like Holst and Gerding Edlen along with Congressman Blumenauer, plus there are cash prizes for first through third placement (though the real prize would be seeing your idea actually implemented). Entries due June 1!
