Nicole Whitesell of Adorn and Erinn Warner have opened Gild, a new shoe shop that’s an extension of Adorn’s SE Division location. The shop features brands like Dolce Vita, Superga, and Matt Bernson, as well as accessories from Trask, Maya Moon, and Seaworthy. They’re celebrating with a party with all the usual goodies (snacks, bubbly), plus golden manis and raffle prizes.

Folly is turning 8 (!!!!) and they are celebrating with a three-day long celebration that will include a HUGE sale with 25% off all Sarah Bibb label items, a raffle with 8 prize packages to choose from valued at over $200 each, and of course refreshments.

Shop Boswell, the new retail store by hat designer Brookes Boswell, is throwing her hat (haha, get it?) into the local retail scene ring, and to celebrate she is having an opening party featuring local favorite Better Late Than Never, as well as Los Angeles based shoe designer The Palatines and Brooklyn based ceramics designer Demetria Chappo. They boast an impressive array of brands that are new to Portland and exclusive to their shop, which include Ashley Rowe, Audrey Brown, Chelsea Cardinal, Costalots, DUO NYC, Eleonor Bostrom, Fixed Air, No. Ceramics, Nikki Chasin, Paige Martin, Samantha Pleet Swim, and Welcome Companions. As an added bonus, upstairs neighbor REIFhaus will be launching their SS16 collection during the event and offering 15% off SS16 styles as well as swimwear, which customers can try on upstairs in their studio.

Few clothing swaps match the magnitude of The Biggest Clothing Swap in the Northwest. In its sixth year, it’s held at the Crystal Ballroom, and last year more than 1,000 people attended and left with thousands of pounds of new (to them) clothing. There will be sections for women, men, plus-size, and accessories. It’s a bring a bag (or two) and leave with a bag (or two) type of thing. Proceeds benefit the annual Alley 33 Fashion Event, and all leftover clothing will be donated to local charities. Did you know May 15th is International Fluevog Day? Well I sure the fuck didn’t until their PR person emailed me about it, but nonetheless let’s celebrate! John Fluevog himself will be in the Portland Fluevog flagship store to meet and greet his loyal customers, and there will be food, drinks, and music to aid in the merriment. This is an RSVP thing though, and those parties are ALWAYS good, so hop to it and RSVP here.
